Las nominaciones en las 24 categorías de los Premios Oscar 2018, que celebrará su 90º edición, se anunciaron este martes en la mañana desde el Teatro Samuel Goldwyn de Beverly Hills, California. Fueron presentadas por el presidente de la Academia John Bailey junto a los actores Tiffany Haddish y Andy Serkis

“The Shape of Water”, del director de origen mexicano Guillermo del Toro, lideró las nominaciones con 13, récord que ostentan “Gone with the wind” (1939), “From here to eternity” (1953), “Shakespeare in love” (1998), “Forrest Gump” (1994), “Chicago” (2002), “Mary Poppins” (1964), “Who’s afraid of Virginia Wolf” (1966), “The Lord of the “Ring: “the fellowship of the ring” (2001) y “The curious case of Benjamin Button” (2008).

“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” de Martin McDonagh la sigue con 9, mientras “Dunkirk” de Christopher Nolan con 8.

Como notas interesantes, Christopher Plummer a sus 88 años se convierte en el actor más longevo jamás nominado en los Premios Oscar para una competencia. También Greta Gerwig se convierte en la quinta mujer nominada en la categoría de Dirección, mientras Rachel Morrison en la primera mujer nominada como Mejor Fotografía. Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell acaban de convertirse en el primer dueto que compite en la categoría de Mejor Actor Secundario por un mismo filme, algo que no ocurría desde “Bugsy” (1991).

Esta 90 edición de los Premios Oscar 2018 tendrá nuevamente a Jimmy Kimmel como anfitrión y será trasmitida en vivo este 4 de marzo desde el Teatro Dolby de Hollywood por el canal de televisión estadounidense ABC.
